COSMOS aluminum volume control dampers are suitable for corrosive environments and applications. Aluminum Duct Dampers are used in supply or return air and fresh air duct to regulate air as desired or required. These dampers are available at manual control or automatic actuator control. Its aerodynamic shape and precise workmanship reduces the leakage of air. Thus it reduces the usage of energy and saves time and money. With concealed gear mechanism, COSMOS offers better durability and total peace of mind. Models VCD-AA & VCD-AA-M are COSMOS standard volume control dampers.

COSMOS volume control dampers are made of high quality extruded aluminum profiles. Frame, blades are manufactured aluminum extrusion. Moving opposed blades are on 100 mm pitch center. They are mounted in nylon bushes operated by an exterior linkage which allow the damper to be opened and closed with a minimum of air disturbance. Aluminium Extruded 1.0 mm thick double skin design for low air resistances and the available option for added blade seals on both edges to minimize leakage. Opposed blade rotation is standard, parallel action is optional. Gear chain linkage are of heat resistant Nylon placed within the frame instead of mechanical linkage for rattle free smooth operation.

Standard Construction

●  Frame: 1.5 mm thick extruded aluminum ‘C’ channel.
●  Blades: 4″ (100 mm) wide 1.0 mm (20 gauge) thick double skin aluminum extruded aerofoil type
●  Gasket: : Neoprene / foam gasket for Low leakage application
●  Bushes: Double Nylon bushes for friction free operation.
●  Mechanical Linkage: PVC Gear chain linkages .
●  Axles: 12 mm square galvanized steel.
●  Quadrant: Heavy gauge galvanized steel with position.

Increments of 50 mm in width & height possible with combination of 100 mm& 150mm blade width.

Maximum single module size is 1200×1000 mm.

Damper Width more than 1200 mm or Height more than 1000 mm is provided with a partition.

When installed in the sidewall near the ceiling, linear grille provides horizontal pattern above the occupied zone. Core deflections of 15 and 30 degree direct the air path upward to overcome the drop effect resulting from cool supply air. Use of deflected cores also improves sight tightness of the grille face.
